New for 2007 - The Well House Sunday Lunch Fine Dining Club - Traditional Sunday Lunch with a difference

From 12noon to 5pm on the first Sunday of the month

If you think the best meal of the week is Sunday lunch and consider it to be a time to relax in comfortable surroundings with wonderful views over the countryside, eat good traditional English food with family or friends and enjoy a good bottle of wine or two then you are invited to join our club.

Our Sunday Lunch Fine Dining Club offers you the chance to eat a Sunday lunch with a difference. A lazy no hurry experience between 12.00noon and 5.00pm on the first Sunday in every month. There will be no hurry to rush you through your favourite meal ready for a second sitting. We can seat 30 comfortably. That's it. There will be no queuing for the Carvery. Our friendly waiting staff will bring everything to your table and simply wait on you hand and foot. You will have an unhurried civilised lunch after which you might like to retire to our cosy bar or elegant sitting room by a roaring fire, in the winter of course, have coffee, perhaps a Brandy, and chat with your guests. And because you are our guest and we want you to feel at home, don't even worry if you nod off, we'll ensure you are woken up before 5.00pm when we have to prepare for dinner.

As for the food, after all that's what it's all about isn't it? Well, our menu will still feature a traditional roast which will vary from Sunday to Sunday. Your starter might be Game Terrine with Redcurrant Compote or Tian of Prawns and Crayfish Tails or Roasted Plum Tomato, Garlic and Basil Soup.

Your main course choices might include a Trio of Cornish Lamb or Roast Rib of Cornish Beef with Braised Oxtail or Roast Loin of Pork.

But there will also be an alternative, even more traditional main course. A course reminiscant of bygone days, the days of medieval banquets or latterly the lavish country house parties of the late eighteenth and mid twentieth centuries.

This might be Porchetta of Suckling Pig or Roast Breast of Goose with Spiced Apples or Roasted Topside of Cornish Veal or perhaps Roast Partridge with Lardons of Bacon.

And then the puddings. It might be Traditional English Trifle or Apple and Melon Crumble with Cinnamon Custard or Bread and Butter Pudding individually cooked to order.

This is Sunday lunch fine dining The Well House way.

Finally the wine. We have over 120 bins of some of the finest wines from both old and new world producers. And House Wines that knock the spots off some of the better known and more expensive alternatives.

But the real nice thing about joining our Club is that you get preferential rates whenever you dine with us in the future! And it's completely free. Just eat Sunday Lunch with us once and you automatically become a member.
